Importance of freshwater

- More than two-thirds of the earths surface is covered in water.
- Accessible fresh water accounts for less than one-tenth of 1 percent of all earth's water.
- people have tapped half of these freshwater sources already.
- unfortunately fresh water Is rarely found where it is needed most.
- 97% of liquid fresh water is stored underground in aquifers( a body of permeable rock that can contain and transmit groundwater)
- these aquifers are being depleted faster than they can be recharged
- between 5 and 10 million people (mostly children) die each year from water related illness

NGO

This NGO (Non-Government Organization).it has its headquarters New York City and Washington D.C. And its founder is Michael Posner, it was formerly known as the “lawyers Committee for Human Rights”. This is a non-profitable Organization; this means that this organization makes no money of anything they do. This organization was formed in 1978, the purpose of this Organization is to protect refugees and to supporting human rights around the world.

Human Rights First is an independent advocacy and action organization that challenges America to live up to its ideals.

This relates to our blog as it wants to give back to the world and try to help out people as much as they possibly can.

This site is also trying to help America not to be “all talk and no walk”.

photos for history

this image (below) shows the British and the french conquering the middle east on the scramble for south Africa. (bottom left corner says scramble for south Africa) We chose this image as colonisation was covered by war and this was a war for Middle East and the beginning of the scramble for South Africa.

We chose this image as it shows the European countries having a tug of war for Africa. As the Europeans were fighting the Africans the Africans were fighting for the rights and country and they fought from the 1870's to 1900. The 3 reasons why they want Africa were economic, political and social. At this point of time slave trading had hit a collapse of profitability

This image (below) shows an island being invaded by many different brand names and symbols. some of the most easily noticed are Coca-Cola, Disney, McDonald's, Castrol, Nike, Windows and many more. We chose this image because it symbolises a little (unwealthy countries) being invaded by all these brands that go international.
this image (below) shows elf working and the caption saying " santa's workshop is movinf to mexico" and the paycheck says " NAFTA sweatshop ". We chose this image because mexico is a place were lots of the worlds things is made and santa makes toys for kids and they go all over the world too.

We chose this image (below) because it is a man with a hat that has the american flag on it , he is also eat africa. We chose this because countries that are wealthy just take control of countrie that aren't wealthy and they colonize and make that country adapt to the changes to the life style of the colonizing country

logo and slogan

this is our new logo

The globalisation song by year 10 students

Lyrcis to : the Globization song by year 10 students

In the first place it was
The Egyptians and Hittites
Fought for some land
Got into some fights

After Egypt lost
they both wanted to just stop
So they got together and created
The forst recored peace treaty
In 1258 B.C.

Then alog came,
The Assyrians, The persians,
And Alex the great
Everybody wanted Egypt

No one wanted to wait.
Then along came the Romans
To put out the fire

But before long was replaced
By the Byzantine Empire
Globalization has always been around

all throughout history its easily found
with the good times, and the bad times, and everything in between
On the international agenda
Globalization just routine

After Coloumbus went on over
to the New World, Europeans Conceptions
Were twisted and twirled, Some had believed
 that the earth was flat
And you can't get too far using logic like that,

Then Europe Began to Colonize,
At the the natives did not relise
That the motives of these people
Were not to nice

And because they trusted them,
They paid the price,

But the spanish are the people
You have to scold
They'd do anything to fill
Their lust for gold

But what alot of them did
Was, well, just plain evil
The spanish had caused Indigenous upheaval
Gold is what they wanted and gold id what they got

But morals were something i guess they forgot
up their sleeves they hid a ton of tricks
The spanish were idoits

Globalization's around today
and it certainly is not always ok
Globalization can be a good thing
But there's always negatives
That the concept will bring

Lumbus went to America
On the santa Maria
The new world thing gave people the idea
to try and discover as much as they could.

And the real question was not
CAN?? , SHOULD??,

So they left their homes and set up international missions
So they broke the rules
They had set for themselves
HYPOCRISY WORKED ARROGANCE SELLS
They manged to convince others and convert
But this assimilation made the other heritage hurt
Culture was lost as assimilation reigned
Indigenous cultures failed, the foreign ones gained
Which is essentially globalization's consquence

The poor will lose
and the rich get success
Globalization will always be here
People always want to pioneer
The concept is something that people adhere
Discovery is always an infinite frontier
It doesn't matter what be th year

There isn't a point in shedding a tear
I'm being blunt, i'm being sincere
As long as we live on this big ol' sphere
Ask the question and the answer's clear

Globalization will always be here!
